WELCOME TO MY WORLD

All of my work has been shot in the UK, India, Cambodia, Korea, Malaysia, Sumatra, Bali and Thailand. This is a new website to promote my work in a different way, to catch up with the old please explore www.westrayart.com.  

I graduated from Plymouth University with an BA in Visual and Media Art, I have since lived in South Korea for 5 Years and Malaysia for 4. I have recently moved back to Bristol. The past 12 years have been spent studying, wandering, exploring and creating. I mentored rural primary teachers in Malaysia, taught executives in the Korean Ministry of Science and set up a media art suite in an NGO in Cambodia (www.youngcambodianfilmmakers.com). I have travelled across mountains, desserts and swam in seas teeming with life. Nature is my great love.  

For many years I have also been interested in Art Psychotherapy. Much of my work explores the internal and the external. I have always been interested in the symbolic function of the mind as well as watching the external patterns of nature. Through various retreats and meditations I have endeavoured, through my life, to gain a deeper understanding of self. I think this comes out through my film work especially. 

I have studied education from integrated aspects of the young persons world to educational leadership. My professional values orbit the concept of personal transformation through the arts and through education. I have embarked on a journey to develop myself as a coach and therapist.
